MIPIM-2020: what Ukraine will represent at the global investment exhibition

MIPIM will take place on March 10 – 13 in Cannes Palais des Festivals.
MIPIM is one of the most important International events gathering investors from all over the world. The first event took place in 1990. For the last 3 decades, the exhibition has been demonstrating exciting results proving its global status. Over 26 800 people attended the event annually. Among them 6300 investors, over 4100 top managers, 3800 companies, guests from 100 countries. The exhibition put together hundreds of conferences, discussions, presentations. Participants not only find partners there but also share their experience and innovative approaches to the business.

Dmytro Dopiro, the official representative of MIPIM in Ukraine states that during the first years of the exhibitions it was the meeting point for business representatives only. Though, during the time the events were attended by the political leaders and city authorities. The goal of the city at MIPIM is not only to find an investor for implementing public projects but also to support businesses interested in private projects. Such initiatives allow municipalities to attract serious investment companies, creating a favorable climate for business. The Ukrainian delegation is still relatively small, but from year to year the number of our representatives is growing: in 2018 – 59 people, in 2019 – 77 people, about 100 people are expected this year.

Ukraine, where investment attraction remains one of the most discussed topics will have the biggest representation at MIPIM for the several last years.

According to Anna Nestulia, co-organizer of Ukraine at MIPIM, CEO of Invest in Projects, for several years in a row only Kyiv was presented from Ukraine in Cannes. This year Ukraine expands its geography at the exhibition: in addition to the Kyiv stand, there will be a stand with the projects from Ivano-Frankivsk, Lviv and other cities

Moreover, participants will have more opportunities for promotion. In particular, there will be an active program of events with the participation of the local political leaders, business representatives, as well as foreign guests. This will help Ukraine to look more professional and attractive in the eyes of the International audience.

In 2020, Ukrainian companies such as UDP, Altis Holding, DELTA Ukraine, Invest in Projects, TK Property Management, Intergal Bud, Dragon Capital, Midland Development, Toronto-Kyiv, STRIX.Property Investment Boutique, Promprylad.Renovation, Mandarin Plaza Group will take part in MIPIM. As an addition, City One Development is preparing a separate stand.

Traditionally Ukrainian delegation at MIPIM is supported by the Embassy of Ukraine in France, as well as local authorities, representatives of the relevant state institutions.

Why Ukrainian companies are going to MIPIM and whether it is possible to succeed just for several days.

Yuriy Kryvosheya, President and Managing Partner of Toronto-Kyiv, Member of the Board of Directors, Canada-Ukraine Chamber of Commerce (CUCC) states based on his experience that the right goals and well-done homework allow arranging useful meetings that result in real business cases as decision-makers from the world-known investment funds attend the exhibition. The results of their business trip depend only on the way Ukrainian companies prepare and promote themselves.
